Welcome to Babyboomtown!

Warwick Students Arts Festival, Warwick University.

Just a submission to let you all know I'm still alive.

I've been a busy bee.

Moving house, getting ready to start university again. Getting used to a faster life again. Trying to slow down the spinning of the world - I'm getting dizzy.

Sorry I haven't been keeping up with all your submissions. I'm working on it. They'll be dealt with soon. This afternoon if you're lucky.

Until I get my Paris photos back, you'll have to make do with this rather old shot of a brilliant ska band called Babyhead. Check them out at [link] . Fun stuff - dancing to ska is the best way to cut loose.

Hope you're all well. H.

Who says concert photojournalism should be of people prancing and headbanging their way til somebody gets a seizure? The Tackle by *AlexJHH gives us a seldom seen perspective to all that JAZZZ! Maybe we can't hear it on 2 dimensional photographs, but this shot, I can feel like I'm boogie-ing along dancing to CHICAGO! (Featured by ^estudio)

'Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?'
'That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,'
'I don’t know where. . .'
'Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,' said the cat.

Horribly intrusive watermarks are tacky. If you're concerned about people stealing your photos, don't post them on the internet.

Photography is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event. (HCB)

Definitely one of the more energetic and fun bands I've seen live - after realising that they were nearing the end of the set, I stopped shooting because I didn't want to miss skanking to such a great live act :D

Largely because I was using the evil tiny 400D as a backup camera, as my Minolta batteries had died after heavy usage that week. I have no idea how to change settings on the fly with the Canon (I just grabbed it for the first time that afternoon), so the result was thus :D

I use a 5D - it was my first DSLR - or any camera beyond a compact. It's taken a beating, and I've had it for a few years - it's even missing part of the rubber grip, but I love it to bits, and if I didn't need to compose, I could use it with my eyes closed :)
