Meet Marvin. Probably the most depressed robot ever. The original "paranoid android". You can find him in the "Hitch Hikers Guide the the Galaxy". If you don't know who Marvin is, you should. [link] is a great article on him.
This is the way that the recent feature film depicted Marvin. I loved the character design, and for Christmas off my mate Gareth got a figure for my desk. This is also one of the first decent shots I've taken with my nice new shiny Konica Minolta Dynax 5D. I love this camera - and this is the first time I've actually managed to get a picture right. It's got lots of options, far more than my previous digital compact. I extended shutter time for this - meaning he reflected the blue light from my speakers quite nicely The eyes were edited a bit to make them brigher, as his light up eyes also light up the rest of his head. Besides, Marvin doesn't look right without the piercing eyes Marvin is also the most depressed character ever - and his characterisation, especially in the book, is great: "I got very bored and depressed, so I went and plugged myself into [the ship]'s external computer feed. I talked to the computer at great length, and explained my view of the universe to it, " said Marvin. "And what happened?" pressed Ford. "It committed suicide," said Marvin. Yeah, so I love Marvin. And this is my picture of him. Hope you like it. Comments appreciated as always. |

'Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?'
'That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,'
'I dont know where. . .'
'Then it doesnt matter which way you go,' said the cat.
